Cereals (BYDV)
graph information

Flight patterns for aphid vectors of BYDV are presented for Lincoln - Canterbury, Waimate - South Canterbury and Hastings - Hawkes Bay. Flights are a composite of the two main BYDV vectors (cereal aphid, rose grain aphid) as well as three minor BYDV vectors (corn leaf aphid, apple grain aphid and blackberry cereal aphid).

Graph key for Lincoln only:

The single thick, yellow line this year keyindicates the latest catches of the five BYDV vectors trapped in the 7.5m suction trap. The area shaded in darker green green-keyrepresents historical data of flights (mean ±S.E.) of BYDV aphid vectors trapped at Lincoln in years of severe BYDV. Last years data line is cerise cerise_key.

The blue shaded area blue-key represents historical data of flights (mean ±S.E.) of BYDV aphid vectors trapped at Lincoln in years of low BYDV.

The historical data is presented to give some idea of the relative abundance of aphid flights compared to other years.

Graph key for Waimate and Hastings only:

Single line only because it is the first year.
